The Blue Light Building and the Health Center Bytesteinen 3

At Løkkemyra in Kristiansund, a new health building has been erected to bring together three important emergency services under one roof: municipal emergency room, ambulance station and response center. The client was Ziko Gruppen, with Panelbygg as the general contractor. IPOA has supplied steelwork and steel structures for the project.

The building has a gross area of 2,133 m² and is constructed as a steel structure with sandwich panels and perforated concrete floors. The construction period was less than a year, and it was ready for the first tenants to move in in December.

The emergency room is located on the first floor with examination rooms, a doctor's office and a waiting room, while the second floor houses the response center for Nordmøre. The ambulance station has access to the building's east wing with garages, a laundry room and technical rooms on the first floor, as well as rest rooms, training and training rooms and living areas on the second.

As a health and emergency building, the project is adapted to its purpose with, among other things, extra sound insulation and flexible system walls. The building has energy class A and is designed for a long lifespan, while also allowing for future conversion if needs change. IPOA's contribution with steel structures was crucial for a building that combines robustness, functionality and efficient progress.
